Q: Is the Inogen One suitable for night use?
A: The Inogen One G2 and Inogen One G3 use proprietary delivery technology, developed by Inogen. Inogen One uses the pulse dose principle and is designed to be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even during the night. The Inogen One is clinically proven to provide the necessary oxygen for most ambulatory patients during all phases of daily activity and during sleep. To make absolutely certain Inogen One G2 or Inogen One G3 is suitable for your specific needs, we advise to take it to your doctor.
Q: Can I charge my Inogen One in my car?
A: Yes, you can charge both the Inogen One G2 and the Inogen One G3 in your car. And it gets even better, as you can use the Inogen One during your car trip and charge the battery at the same time. Meaning you will have less worries as you always have the guarantee of a fully charged battery at your point of destination.
Q: Does the Inogen One provide continuous flow?
A: No, the Inogen One G2 and Inogen One G3 do not provide continuous flow. Inogen One is a pulse demand system. This is an innovative and well proven technology where only during inspiration the patient triggers a sensor (which senses a negative pressure) in the concentrator. The Inogen One immediately responds by injecting a volume (bolus) of oxygen in the lungs, creating the desired level of oxygen saturation for the patient. With the pulse demand system there is no oxygen flow during the expiration of the patient. The Inogen One G2 and Inogen One G3 are the only portable oxygen concentrators (POC) which have been clinically tested to prove they can be used during the night. Click here for an overview of the clinical information.
Q: Is there any maintenance needed for my Inogen One G2?
A: For the Inogen One G2 the maintenance requirement is very low. Inogen One concentrators are designed to run trouble free for many years with little maintenance. On a regular basis, once every week or every 2 weeks, you need to wash the gross particle filter; replace the particle filter once every quarter. Once every 12 months a complete external product check, including feedback from the user, needs to be performed. During this annual maintenance the output filter needs to be changed. We advise you to contact your Inogen One equipment provider for an appointment to have your concentrator serviced.
